7th grade Reflection

When I first arrived at school, I thought I was going to have the worst school year ever. Whenever I walked into my classes, I couldn’t talk to anyone. I was extremely shy and didn’t answer any of the questions the teachers had asked. I had thought that all my teachers were strict. I soon realized that all my teachers had turned out to be extremely nice teachers. They had helped me in tough situations like when I couldn’t find the answer to a problem or when I was just having trouble with the class. They were very compassionate and caring to each and every one of their students.

By October, I realized that my life had gone the opposite direction that I thought it would go. School was fun…at times. The teachers had taught me new things day after day. They never acted like they were sick of our class or like they didn’t want to be at school. They were always there for us. Eventually, I figured out that my school year wasn’t as bad as I thought it would turn out to be. During my 7th grade year, I have learned that I really don’t have good time management. I also learned that you need to be willing to work hard if you want to earn the good grades your parents always like to see.

As the year comes to a close, I will be missing my 7th grade teachers with their kind-heartiness(if that is a word). If I had to do 7th grade again, I don’t think I would change anything except to work a little harder in class discussions with all my classmates. I would tell the 7th graders next year that they should be expecting great teachers and tell them to try to make new friends.

My multi-paragraph story

Your childhood is the best place to be in my opinion. Without your childhood, where would you get excitement and new opportunities?
Nowhere… Exactly. When you are grown up and mature, you don’t really have the time to have fun and play around like your childhood. You just work and work and work. Same routine day in and day out. In contrast, when you are in your childhood, you play around and do whatever you want with no real routine. That is why you should have lots of fun in your childhood while you can. You should maybe even make a bucket list for your childhood.

Being an adult sounds like the most boring thing to be. If no one had fun I don’t think I could live for even a minute. I can’t imagine a world where children couldn’t be able to play and have fun. Could you? The world would a gloomy, and sorrowful place. No funny jokes, and no laughing. All in all, I think living your childhood to the furthest extent is good because you may never be able to play outside again.

My Favorite Poem

it’s funny how hello is always accompanied with goodbye
it’s funny how good memories can start to make you cry
it’s funny how forever never seems to last
it’s funny how much you’d lose if you forgot about your past
it’s funny how “friends” can just leave when you are down
it’s funny how when you need someone they never are around
it’s funny how people change and think they’re so much better
it’s funny how many lies are packed into one “love letter”
it’s funny how one night can contain so much regret
it’s funny how you can forgive but not forget
it’s funny how ironic life turns out to be
but the funniest part of all, is none of thats funny to me

I chose this for my favorite poem because of the unexpected ending. When you are reading the poem, you can picture all of the events she talks about to be funny, but once you read the last line, you would’ve never expected such a weird ending.

Media and Memory

When I was little, I just couldn’t do without my special teddy bear. I had gotten it after I lost my first tooth when I was 4 years old. It was the most precious toy that I would treasure and play with all day and sleep with all night. It had a bright red nose extremely fluffy hair. While I had it, I would never let go. My mom would want to wash it, but I didn’t want to give her it for even a split second. Since I had always been afraid of the dark when I was little, this teddy bear had gotten me through my problems. That’s why I couldn’t let anyone touch it. I thought it could get me through even more fears, until I knew I was too old for it. Without my special teddy bear, I would probably be scared to open my closet every night.

Student Blogging Challenge Week 2

Yeehaw!!! Texas is such a great state. Texas is known as the lone star state because the Texas flag has only one star. Texas is an extremely fun place for everyone to visit.

One reason Texas is a fun place to live in is because of its awesome sports team. You can cheer on Texas’ football, basketball etc. teams. They are always fun to watch them win against the opposing team. Just last night, they had just beat Arizona St. in the March Madness. I think that even though Texas doesn’t always have the greatest rank, they have sportsman-like players that care about just having fun. That is why they are fun to watch if you live in Texas. Furthermore, The ” Shrine of Texas History”( Alamo Mission ) is always a fun place to go to. Texas had lost the war that had taken place here, but they had lost it in a brave way. I think the Alamo Mission is a fun place to go to because you can experience what positions the texans were I when they fought the Mexicans. These are just 2 reasons Texas is a fun place to visit. There is much more for you to explore in this amazing state.

All in all, visiting Texas is a good choice because of its huge selection of fun things to do. Imagine if you could live in Texas forever, wouldn’t it be awesome?

Winter Olympics 2014

The Winter Olympics just started!!! We did pretty well in ice skating with White & Davis, some of our best ice skaters. We had some pretty good snowboarding from both the male and female sides. Just a few days ago, Shaun White was boarding. Everybody was expecting a lot from him, but he just fell straight on his bottom and came out in 4th place with medal, unfortunately.

Overall, I think the US is doing good this year in the Sochi Olympics, hosted by Russia. Hopefully, the US will pull off with the most gold medals in the end.

My Expository Writing

Describe why swimming is hard.

“I’m too tired I can’t go in anymore, I am too tired!” Swimming can be pretty chalenging.

For starters, some people are afraid of the water and you can’t blame them. The first time I saw a pool, I was pretty scared too. I thought I would drown. But when I jumped in, it felt like heaven beneath my feet. Ah! It fells so good. All in all, swimming is just plain hard.

In addition to that, swimming requires lots of endurance. Your body gets tired very quickly. For example, Olympic swimmers need to train hard so there endurance improves.

As long as you keep trying, hard things will be accomplished. Maybe I should start swimming with a buoy?

I don’t know what to write about

I don’t know what to write about, so I am going to write about not knowing what to write about. I know that I  can go on Mrs.Schoch’s blog and look for a random prompt to write about, but i thought that writing about not knowing what to write about would be fun, simple, and creative. I am sitting on my bed while writing this piece of fabtabulous. Now that i think about it, this post is going to be really boring. I’ve got nothing to talk about. What about the WWN( Westridge Wildcat News ) that I watched during wildcat time today. I think that WWN is a great idea and can be pretty funny as well. I like how WWN takes what most middle-school teens usually are talking about like the Super Bowl. You can go and read my opinion about the Super Bowl in my post right before this one.
That wraps up my post about not knowing what to write about. I hope this post had satisfied your needs on a good post and hope you enjoyed it.

Seahawks or Broncos?

Super Bowl XLVIII is coming up. Who are you routing for? The Seahawks… or the Broncos. The Seahawks had just slipped through the 49ers to get to the Super Bowl, while on the other hand the Broncos had left the Patriots in the dust. There was no competition in between those 2 teams. Even though the Patriots lost( I was routing for them that game), I still think this Super Bowl will be a great one this year. On the Seahawks they have quarterback Russel Wilson who has had a great year. On the Broncos’ side, they have Peyton Manning who has had an amazing year and is the top quarterback in the league currently. Will the Seahawks’ defense be enough to hold back the Broncos’ offense, or will the Broncos’ offense be too much for the Seahawks to handle? For this Super Bowl, I am going to be routing for the Seahawks because I don’t really like the Broncos. Who are you routing for?

Texas in the Big 12 Championship

Last Saturday, the Texas Longhorns were in the big 12 championship. They would be versing the Baylor Bears. The weather outside in Waco, where they played, was extremely cold. Some of the screens for cameras were foggy and were irreplaceable. When I watched the first half, there wasn’t much excitement. The Bears weren’t doing very well as they usually were. The Longhorns weren’t doing there best as well which mad me get worried. The final score for the first half was a tie of 3 to 3 and Case McCoy had 1 interception. That wasn’t a great half for the Longhorns. The 2nd half wasn’t any better. The bears got on a 17 to 0 run. The Longhorns were getting anxious with the score. The Bear’s defense wouldn’t let the Longhorn’s offense move a single yard. Finally in the final quarter, while Case McCoy was being chased by about 5 defenders he had thrown and amazing lob pass to the the running back, Malcolm Brown. This touchdown was too little too late. The Longhorns were in sorrow as the Bears had been unrelenting and scored 10 more points on the Longhorns. The final score was 30 to 10 Bears. This had brought Texas all the way down to 4th in the Big 12 which make me sad. Hopefully Texas will win their next game against the Oregon Ducks.
